On my first trip to Paris, the friend I was visiting said, "We need to take a tour bus. Then you'll see everything and we can figure out what we want to do from there." So, at her recommendation, we took a taxi over to the Eiffel Tower (as one does) to use that as our first stop. There I was. My first time in Paris after years - literally a lifetime - dreaming of visiting this beautiful city. Finally seeing the Eiffel Tower in person. My comment: "Gee. It's smaller than I thought it would be." My friend was not a happy camper. In fact, she was insulted on La Tour's behalf. It's a funny thing about size in Paris.
